E-mail enhancements

• Put it on your site
  Remember, for your protection, Masterfolio does not show your e-mail address on your website unless you want it to be displayed. Your customers may still contact you through your contact page, but we disguise your true e-mail address as a built-in precaution against spam-bots finding your e-mail address and sending you unwanted e-mail.
  
  However, you may choose to display your e-mail address anyway for a variety of valid reasons, perhaps because you want to give others the chance to contact you using their own e-mail program (rather than using the ‘contact’ page, which doesn’t provide a record to the sender).
  
  In that case, just put the e-mail address in the body of your home page, with the following text: “If you’d like to contact me, please use the ‘contact’ section of my website or e-mail me at yourname@yourdomain.com.”



• Use it in your signature block
  Most e-mail clients, including Microsoft Office, Hotmail, and Yahoo, allow you to provide a ‘signature block’ at the end of your e-mails. We recommend this practice as a method to point your audience to your site in an unobtrusive way, as well as promote yourself constantly. A signature block might read:

  “John Doe is an expert in turning around companies with falling market share. For more information, visit www.johndoe.com. Please reply to this e-mail via john@johndoe.com.”

• Use it for your Return Address
  If you are using MS Outlook to send/receive e-mails, you can customize it in such a way that your new e-mail address associated with your new personal website becomes the default return e-mail address, and is always displayed in the “From” section of your audience’s e-mails.
  
  That way you don’t have to include the phrase “Please reply to this e-mail via john@johndoe.com” in your signature block (although we still recommend that you include your website address in your signature block).   More E-mail FAQ



• Receive Incoming e-mail
  When you register with Masterfolio you receive one e-mail address on your new domain. You can specify that e-mail messages received at that address be instantly forwarded to another e-mail address-- e.g., your home e-mail.
  In this way you appear to be using an business e-mail address but can continue to use exactly the same e-mail program as for your other e-mails.
  To change the e-mail address to which incoming e-mails are routed automatically, you will use the easy-to-use ADMIN area included in your domain package. Admin FAQ



• Make your business look bigger by adding e-mail addresses
  If you are running a small business but would like it to appear bigger, you can also add additional e-mail addresses (you can have up to 25), all of which can be routed to your primary e-mail.
  
  Thus, you could have info@johndoeconsulting.com as well as sales@johndoeconsulting.com and service@johndoeconsulting.com. How to add more e-mail addresses.
